Default car idles high, 2000 rpm idle

Finally got the car started after I fixed the oil pressure issue, but now I have another issue.

The car runs at 2000 rpm without touching the gas. This is a 2000 SL1 with a motor from a 2001 SL1. I replaced the intake manifold gasket before installing the motor and torqued everything correctly. Swapped over a known good TPS. What else would cause a high idle, a bad IAC?

Thanks all!

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Failed IAC or the dreaded vacuum leak. Did you put all the hoses back on?

ETCS and or ECTS connector failure can cause this. If the ECTS indicates a low temperature to the PCM, the PCM will enrichen the mixture and cause the idle to be way high.

I had this problem on my 95 SC1.

this just happened to us, after a repair. pulled pcm b fuse for 10 min. reg idle returned(we were following directions from a member). it may not be a cure but it may help to point you in the direction of the repair

Brake booster vacuum line not reinstalled. The fitting for it is on the intake near the power steering pump.

Another one fixed!!!

Swapped the IAC and pulled the PCM B fuse for about 10 seconds. Not sure which of those fixed it, but one of them did. Idled right down and sits around 750-800 rpm.

Just gotta bleed the brakes, put the tires back on and take it for a test drive!
