Default I'm so glad I found this place!

Hi there,

I just want to say how glad I am that I found this great forum. There is such a wealth of information here, and I'm looking forward to searching through as much of it as I can.

It's exciting to have the opportunity to learn from so many others here who are so much more knowledgeable than myself.

I drive a 1999 SL, and I've owned this car for about 3 years. It's the first Saturn that I have owned, and I have become very fond it.

The only serious issue that I've had with this car is the shifter cable breaking, or at least that was what I was told at the time by the repair shop.

I have since learned that the problem with my Saturn was most likely the plastic shifter cable bushing that broke, and not the shifter cable itself that broke.

I made the mistake of not asking to keep the old cable before they replaced it in order to be sure that it was actually broken, so I will never know for sure. However, I did learn a good lesson, and I will never make that mistake again.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Welcome to the forum!

Most likely you had the shifter bushing break...but I have had both the bushing and cable break.
