Broken Gas tank strap
Just noticed the other morning that one of my gas tank straps, (the one on the driver side) was broke and hanging down. As I am unfamiliar with what support systems hold the vue's tank up. I am wondering if this is safe to continue driving until I can get the parts.
And any idea what these straps should cost on average? |

It is NOT safe to drive a vehicle with a broken fuel tank mounting strap. Contact a GM dealer to determine what the cost will be for a new strap. It must be replaced - which is easy to do. There are only several fasteners that hold the strap to the vehicle. It is not common for fuel tank straps to break - unless there is severe corrosion. You may want to check the other strap, to see if it is close to breaking. Good luck - let us know what you do. |

$71 dollars plus shipping = $106.46 later Two new straps on. but Im wishing I was in the USA cause they would of been ALOT cheaper like $37+free shipping but oh well.

rusted Completely through 4 inches down from the bolt. one snapped and the other one bent like rubber after i took it off.
