Default 2004 ION Red Line NEW

Just a heads up to anyone who may be in the market for an ION Red Line. Here at Saturn of Okemos we have a 2004 ION Red Line new and untitled that we need to get off the lot. The car has approx 250 miles on it, most of those are test drives as the car was never a demo. The car is silver in color and has base equipment only (which is probably why it's still here). Ok down to the fun stuff:

MSRP: $21030.00
GMS: $19568.93
Our "get the thing the heck out of here" price: $17306.45

Sale number is non-negotiable, plus appliciable fees (title, plate/registration)

Any other questions feel free to contact Doug Schrader, Asst. Sales Manager, at Saturn of Okemos. Phone: (517) 347-7890 E-mail: dkschrader@aol.com or just pm here on the site. Thanks everyone.

Doug

that price sucks for a 2004... hell 2006 models will be on the lot in weeks. There are forum members who have gotten their redlines as cheap as low 15's

I actually didn't think that was a bad price for a brand new one regardless of the year.

Shame I dont' have the money, I'd be all over that in a heartbeat.

Low 15's?? I do know of one fully loaded 2004 redline that has roughly 175 miles on it that you could pick up in the low 16's in OKC. Of course it was wrecked at 90mph on a test drive and rebuilt by a wholesaler! Maybe that is where those low 15's came from as well. Being a Saturn Sales Consultant, I feel that is an awesome price. Low 15's? Seriously!

Actually, I kind of have to agree about the price thing. There were a couple dealerships offering $16k prices in the beginning of 2005 because they were desperate to get the Red Lines off the lot. For a car that's now 2 model years old, no one wants to pay that much, even if it's brand spankin' new.

Regardless of what people say, this is the cheapest ION Red Line you'll find that hasn't been smashed. Sorry to those of you that don't agree with my pricing, I just thought I'd pass along what I thought was a fair deal on a nice car. But if all this thread is going to do is get slammed then maybe it needs to be deleted.

It finally sold ... like .. a year later. Most of the salespeople didn't know about it and they were selling it full price. They'd get all the way in to do the financing and the CarFax would pop up with an accident and suddenly the people decided they didn't like black...

Saturn of Germantown's body shop still remembers me cause of that.

As I'm not very familar with the Ion, please forgive a dumb question, but what do you mean by Base? No leather/sunroof/cruise/other toys or manual locks/windows/no toys?

Base on the ION is manual trans, manual windows and locks, whatever the basic radio is (I think simple CD player w/ 4 speakers), no automated lights, no A/C (in the US anyway, I think in Canada they sell with A/C standard), no cruise, no sunroof, no leather... well... pretty much base is basic.

Is that the answer you were looking for?

I guess that's the answer I was looking for...as I said I'm not familar with the Ion because I don't care for it. Seems like a waste to make a Red Line without all the creature comforts. But what do I know?

Thanks to dschrader (sp?) for the info.

The RL has some of the creature comforts standard. I can't remember which ones but I think it has the basic power windows/locks/mirrors, AM/FM/CD(/MP3?), ABS, and then maybe auto headlights. It also has cloth/leather Recaro seats. The base mentioned by dhickerson is the ION.1 sedan, the spiritual successor to the SL base sedan but with power steering and an optional automatic.
