i checked the spec for 91-95, it is 7K-10Kohm, 96+ is 8K-15Kohms. perhaps the service part coil can replace the OBD-I coils dispite they have different specs? i assume the OBD2 coil outputs more spark energy. and i would agree the coils are very relible. one of my coils have an internal open on the secondary side and without a ohmmeter you would never know. it fires strong

hello i bought a 97 sc2 the car started running like crap 2 days later i brought it to autozone the compter gave me the cam shaft position sensor code and a cylinder 1 misfire code and a ects code i bought the ects changed it the codes gone i bought 4 sets of plugs each one sucked i had + 4's reg bosch denso iridiums and now ac delco i bought msd wires those seem good i bought msd coils i put it all in the car all errors were gone for about 5 minutes then i got a cyl 4 misfire p0304 i changed the gas filter i tested the compression i brought it to a lot of shops i tested all the ohms on wires coils ect. they were all good the computer came up with nothing the car would miss then not miss depending on how the car felt that minute i just read this post i went outside and took the 1/4 msd coil of the car and put the stock one i replaced back on the car my cyl 4 misfire is now gone but i now have a cyl 1 misfire would i be wron to assume that the resistance difference in the msd coils were causing my cyl 4(cam shaft position sensor) error and that my stock coil is bad on the number 1 cyl? and that if i put a stock 1/4 coil back on there it will go away?
