2007 VUE 3.5L
2005 VUE 3.5L
Default Hazard button help needed

Pushed the emergency hazard button on the dash and pushed it a whole inch into the dash.
I can put my finger in the hole and feel around, but can't tell what gave way.

I suspect this is going to have to be a trip to the dealer to get it out of the dash, unless there is an easy fix that somebody can tell me about.

so are your hazard flashers on the whole time now? lol...

some former neighbors of ours had a 90-93 trans sport and the turn signal switch supposedly broke off when attempting to put the right signal on, lol.

No.
I was able to stick my finger in and somehow pushed from the correct angle and turned them off.

Don't think I'll be able to turn them on or off again where the button is now.

Default Fix It

FWIW it is really easy to pop the front panel.
Here is a good look at how to do it

You more than likely broke the Hazard bezel also. We see these from time to time at the facility I work at. You will need to order a new bezel to fix this problem, part number is 22702075, it runs about $12.

Happens all the time at the dealership I work at. If the customer is waiting in the waiting area for their car, we put the hazards on so we know these are priority cars. Needless to say there's at least one or two VUE's a week that this part breaks on.

If you're still under warranty stop by the dealership.

Default what else?

Anything else we should try once to see if it works/breaks commonly?

A fellow Saturnfan punched his into the dash on the way to Columbus to meet Charlie this weekend.
I use my flashers quite a bit - I just try to make sure I am gentle with it.

If I am on the highway and run into traffic, I tend to use them so I am a bit more noticable from behind. If a trucker lets me over or something at night it makes it easy to flash them a quick "thank you"..

I followed the pictures on the radio website. Not as easy as it looks. Afraid I might break something.

I guess it is going to be a trip to the dealer.

Wow, I punch my emergency flashers now and then, for the reasons DJ mentions, and when someone is barrelling down on me from behind... to tell them "hey slow the F down biatch!"

I'll be more gentle with it from now on!
