Default What is a good phone mount for sc2

I have an iphone 6s. I use it for GPS. i had vent mount for it but the vents keep falling down when the phone is attached. I tried suction mount on the dash but because it is curved the mount wouldn't stick. what mounts do you use?

I keep mine in my pocket. If I'm using it to navigate I stick it in the cupholder and turn down the radio.

I use a stand-alone GPS. It sits on a weighted, rubber bottom mount. If I brake or corner really hard, it will still slide but it stays put in normal driving. I don't think the Saturn can accelerate quickly enough for it to slide off

This is the style

I stuck a vacuum mount on that black plastic in the center.

I use either my tablet or phone for navigating. Tablet is on a suction cup mount to the windshield. Phone in a clip on a center vent. Both work fine.

Shop around for phone mounts; vent clips, ball mounts, magnetic, suction cup mounting to windshield, etc. Everyone has their personal choices and where they want their phone to view. One person I know rests his phone in the binnacle, covering the speedometer. It slides off if he makes sudden turns but that's his preference (dangerous to others).

I have the vent clamp type. I let the weight pull the vent all the way down and the elbow of the mount rests on the small shelf surface just under and in front of the vent. Mine is a Samsonite brand and happens to have an elbow so it can work. It still bakes your phone when the heat is on.

I have one that I got at the 5 bellow that sticks to the windshield. I don’t use it very often but for 5 bucks, it’s great...until it randomly exploded overnight lol. Haven’t had that happen with my second one.

My Android radio handles my navigation when I need it, but I don't usually take my SL2 on long trips. Our other two vehicles are much more comfortable long distance drivers lol.

My solution for a spot to put my phone was a modeled and 3D printed holder, that also holds a cheap wireless charger from Five Below. Modeled it to fit my older Galaxy S7 phone, lined the inside with some strips of the soft side of velcro, and all I have to do is drop my phone down in it and it starts charging right away.

My first attempt was just a holder that used double sided tape to stick to the side of the console, but that ended up falling off after the inside got hot sitting out in the Florida sun... That's why you'll notice the two screw mounting holes in the one above... I even went as far as inlaying a Saturn logo into the first one though Not sure why I didn't do that for the other one with the wireless charger...

This is the mount I used in my 01 SL1. The suction cup has a sticky gel substance on the bottom which helps with adhesion to to the dash.

When the SL1 was my DD I had the magnetic head option but I swapped in the grip mount for my daughter when I got the 99 SL2. I use the same position for the 99 SL2 as seen in the second photo showing the magnetic head. It hasn't moved from that position in a couple years.

This is the perfect position for "eyes on the road" while using navigation.

I have done some very brisk accelerations due to traffic but it's hard to tell because they usually involve turns so it slides more to the side first

Forget to mention, a piece of rubber shelf liner helps the pad stick but gets yucky in really hot weather. A silicone pad might work better.

If it's mounted securely it can't move. Ever. Except maybe in a crash. See Dorman for some help with securely mounting it: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...2406/9110129-p

My only issue with those is that I like the wireless charging feature, and having something stuck on the back of the phone keeps a wireless charger from working... Using wireless charging keeps my USB plug alive longer since I hardly ever use it

CD slot based holders work well enough however you can no longer see your radio controls. This is not as big a deal on newer cars where you have controls on the steering wheel; not so much in the Saturn.
