Default High Idle after Throttle Body cleaning

Problem: Upon starting up my car (97 Saturn SC2) after I cleaned the TB, it begins to idle around 2700 then slowly climbs down. Wasn't doing this before I cleaned it. It'll eventually go back down to 1200 after a few seconds. But will repeat the same thing every time I restart the car.

Possible Cause: I'm 99% sure that it's the Idle control solenoid, mainly because it was having a hard time going in, (I figured it was because of the O-ring) so I compressed the little brass part with a spring wrapped around it a little bit.

So I'm guessing what I did caused the problem. Now will the car eventually correct this by adjusting the solenoid, or do I have to go back and adjust the solenoid manual and "fix" what I "broke"?

Thanks!

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Well looks like it fixed itself after a 15 mile drive.

I would suggest resetting the PCM (unplug the battery for awhile), that seemed to solve my idling issues after cleaning the throttle body. But as you've found out, it might re-learn whatever it needs to without resetting it.
