Default The saturn feels slow.. wait, it is slow.

I've been driving nothing but my 89 Daytona Shelby in AZ for the pass two month while my brother drive the 93 SL2 in CA. I'm back in CA fro the weekend.

The saturn feels so slow to accelerates and when the a/c is on, good luck getting to 40mph without hitting the gas pedal hard. Granted, the Saturn is an auto while the Daytona is manual.

And the SAD part is, I got 26.67mpg with 80% of city in the daytona while unless it's ALL highway, the saturn will only gets around 23-25mpg. You'd think 124hp car with 2400lbs would get much better gas milage than a 174hp car with 3000lbs, but of course not.

Well, at least the saturn keeps on running and taking the abuse of the new drivers...

Wow, sounds like you have some gas mileage problems there. Have you got that checked yet?

I'd have to agree. I got a 70 mile commute and I get at least 30 MPG in my SW2. Most days I get around 35, a couple times I've gotten close to 40!

When was the last tuneup on the Saturn? Plugs and wires can make a massive difference. I had an SC2 stick with 130k miles and was averaging 32 mpg in a combo of highway and bumper-to-bumper morning commute hell...

Btw, there's not many 4-bangers out there that're really speed demons. 124 hp isn't much to work with, but it's adaquate... you can prob do 0-60 in a sat in ~ 10-11 secs. This isn't fast but I have a second vehicle '92 Isuzu Amigo, and believe me, 10-11 would be a dream............

I had a Green 1993 Dodge Daytona before getting my Ion. I loved that car. It wasn't a Shelby, just a base 2.5L. Very few people who rode in it believed that the car only had 100hp.

That's how I feel whenever I drive my mom's BMW 325i. Whoever thought that 189 hp in a 3200 lb car could feel that fast?

When you add 50 Horsepower and a turbo you surely out classed the Saturn top it off with the Shelbys low gearing and the 600 lbs does little to help the Saturns cause.
