2005 ION-2 Sedan
Default Affinity tires

Comments on Affinity tires please....Took the Ion out yestereday to get some miles on it for the break-in period. 150 miles round trip, myself and 3 passengers on I-29. The Ion felt jittery tho. Tires pressures and balance fine. Not much of a wind either. Did not have this same feeling with the 02 SL1 on the same highway loaded the same. Thinking it could be the rubber...

That's possible, most people aren't too fond of the Firestones.

I've found that Yokohama makes excellent tires for the money.

Also the new goodyear assurance tires are extremely highly rated

I second bobwill's comment. I've bought many vehicles/tires. Firestone has been second to last in my experience (General was the worst). It's difficult to generalize about tires though. What performs well on one car may not do so well on another.

My old "L Series" had those tires on them and I hated them. They did last 60k, but handled horrible. My Ion Coupe came with Firstone Firehawks and I love them.

Thumbs Up Re: Affinity tires

Thanks for all the inputs! I think I'll keep them on until the cold weather is over (if ever!) then switch to something more pleasureable for the summer driving months

On the "L" we called them Crapfinities for good reason.

Nuff said?
