Default 2001 LW200 2.I2 Liter crack in head

While the car is 20 years old I have had it just a year it has 189,900 miles.
My question is about the head I changed the spark plugs but as I went to install the coil pack I saw the area above the #4 plug had filled up with antifreeze. After checking I realized it was coming from a hair line crack which I believe is from the water jacket to the outside. This had been sealed with radiator sealer. So I added some K-bar to reseal the leak. Yes I'm lucky the crack doesn't go to the cylinder.

My question is has anyone else had this problem? While I have fixed a few problems like passing smog in California the monitor's not being ready forget that drive cycle nonsense or the vibration that starts around 60 mph to 75 mph both now fixed the crack or cracks has me perplexed as to what and how it happened.

Some of the S-series had trouble with porous cylinder heads leaking antifreeze into the spark plug holes. I don't really remember if the L-series had this issue but if you are sure it's antifreeze and not engine oil it's a very good possibility. I don't see any other way it could get in there other than that.

I have not heard of this as a common problem with this engine. Possibly a freeze crack due to not enough antifreeze. I know in SoCal a lot of people only run water in their cooling systems.

2002 L200/5 loaded, coming attractions B207R and F40, Ion Redline axles will make this work.
