Idea Laptop mount

I have been looking for a solution for my Vue to allow me to access my laptop from drivers seat without having to balance it on the steering wheel. There are tons of these out there and some can be pretty expensive.

Being relatively handy, I could build my own. I ask if anybody has already done this for their Vue.

Thanks.

I too, would also like any insight on this thread/idea/fabrication. I, also drive around quite frequently and am ALWAYS in need of access to my laptop. I have a 5 speed, so I think due to it being a different setup than auto, and the center console being different, it is SOMEWHAT easy to have like a jacket or hoodie in the passenger seat as a "cradle" for the laptop. How can you drive and balance laptop on steering wheel? I have recently removed the center console, and even more recently, the console that goes around the shifter 'column'. The center console was one of the nastiest ones that I have yet to see, so I when I started to clean it, I noticed it was worse than I thought, as well as the two "cigarette lighters" or 12v supply centers not working, I removed it. The thought did cross my mine of building my own center stand/console/column; I also found a few things like something out of patrol cars, or even amybe just a swap from a different Vue, as there were quite a few variables that I've seen stock. BUT project got put on hold due to a shear pin breaking, and causing manual transmission failure. I currently have another one ready for swap, and while at it, (waiting fo arrival) a new clutch and pressure plate to install.

I've seen them on Amazon. Just check the reviews before ordering one.
