Default AWD in reverse?

So, today here in MI we had the first heavy snowfall since I bought my RedLine. I have an early gig to play tomorrow and naturally I wanted to back my car up to the garage for an easy gear load in the morning. Well, the car just simply wouldn't do it. I tried to peek my head out the door to see what the rear wheels were doing, but the car was zig-zagging around the driveway too much to be able to pay much attention to the back. I then pulled the car out of the driveway and pulled in forward with almost no trouble. Does anyone know if the Versatrak system is given enough input to engage in reverse? I know when you service the RDM fluid you are specifically told to prep the system in a forward gear (maybe because it doesn't work as well or at all in reverse?). Just curious if anyone else noticed this? Driving around town in the snow the car did great, just couldn't get her to back up the hill in my driveway.

Found this article while searching for more answers.

Seems to be mixed opinions. The OP seemed to have the same experience I did, while other people/Saturn techs claim it "works" in reverse. Anyone else have any insight or firsthand experience? Maybe a loss of torque in reverse just can't get the rears spinning as well as a forward gear? Like I said before, I figure there's a reason why you're specifically instructed to prep the RDM in a forward gear after servicing the fluid.

Maybe it's just not as powerful in reverse? IDK, but I'm not the only person to have run into this either.

Well, hopefully a good flush fixes it. I haven't had the chance to do one since I bought it and I don't know the last time it was done. So far the snow has held off and allowed me to keep my nice snow tires off until I get all the suspension work done and get a proper alignment. Trying to get this thing all squared away.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. That was poor communication on my part, I use the term "flush" as a general term for "replacing the fluid". Thank you for clarifying though for any people that may read this post later on.

I also had the opportunity to test this last week. AWD does kick in in reverse for me as well.
