1999 SL2
Default Seat belt needs replacing (dog chew)

Hey everyone, does anyone have a place or can recommend a place where I can get a replacement passenger rear seat belt.
1999 SL2 beige color.

I know Ebay has some, but is there somewhere else I should be looking?

regards,

Jason

We do, but honestly they are few and far between, also, most of them do not let you roam around anymore. Everything is categorized and inventoried...I will start making some calls I guess...

Jason, where about are you in Ontario? Still in the Mississauga area where the car was purchased?

There are a few pick n pulls in the Hamilton area (Kenny U-Pull, PicknSave), Brantford (Bell City Auto), Scarborough (Standard Auto Wrecker) and Cookstown (Cookstown Auto).

You can also use Car-part.com to locate parts. I find that not all parts are inventoried so I look for a common part like bumper to find who has Saturn's in their yard; sometimes they have photos. I then call them and inquire.

It looks like Star Auto Wreckers in Port Perry has a green wagon with tan interior that would work. The front seat belts in the wagon would be the same; not sure about the rear.

I am actually in Brampton now...(north end close to Caledon) There is a listing on EBAY right now for a passenger rear belt, it looks decent, but my eyes are deceiving me. I cant tell if its beige (which I need) or grey. The seller says its beige with a hint of grey....LOL I am afraid to order it and it be the wrong colour.

Here is the ebay listing # 401117349521

Tell me what you think?

I'm thinking that is grey. Regardless it is from a 96 and I believe the buckle changed in 99 and there may have been a colour change too.

The part number you are looking for is 21304496. The colour is Medium Biscuit II and it was used in 1999 through 2002 sedans. I see that it is still available at a few dealerships in the states. Here is a link to the GM part

BELT KIT,R/SEAT (RETR SI)(MD BISC II) - RH.

PartsVoice indicates this dealer has one >> http://www.friesenchevy.com/

This site looks to have one too >> https://www.tascaparts.com/vintage-g...si-m-21304496/

As does this one >> https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.c.../21304496.html

You can also plug that part number into eBay and get a few more hits. The part number is on the tag sewn to the part itself.

If it's still available at some of the dealers in the States, then you should give a call to Niagara Motors, a Chevrolet/Buick dealership in Virgil, ON (near Niagara-On-The-Lake). 1-905-468-4204 between 9am-5pm Mon-Fri, 9am-12pm Sat. That's how I snagged my OEM motor mount a few years back, as well as some other parts over the years.

Call them up, give them the part number and if it's available, you can pick it up from there... and maybe stop in at one of the wineries and pick up something nice while you're in the area.

I had good luck by finding the GM part number (in my case a motor mount) and calling my local GM parts department at a dealership. They didn't have the part in stock (marked as discontinued) but could use their computer to find the part at other GM dealerships and gave me the contact info. Very useful!

I am pretty friendly was the parts guy at my local GM shop, quite often he has to call GM vintage services in the states to help me out. Parts are becoming harder and harder to get!

It was nice that the dealership could see how many of each part were available at each dealer. They emailed me the printout, really cool. Some parts you really want OEM brand-new, others are truly why the junkyard was invented. Good luck with the search, internet friend!
