Default Temp control - Noise

When I move the temp control knob from hot to the middle I can hear a noise. The same thing happens if I go from cold to the middle.

Does anyone else hear this noise?

I'm not sure if the car has always done this or if this is new. ???

Paul

Hard to say without audio, but the temperature control knob operates a flap-style door inside the airbox up under the dash that mixes cold air with hot. Is the noise constant, or does it only happen for a 1-2 seconds as the door moves?

I don't notice any noise with mine, but you might have some debris inside the box that is either restricting airflow (which can generate noise continuously) or is physically rubbing against that debris as the door moves back & forth (noticeable only when the door moves).

Those are some good thoughts, thank you.

It only last a few seconds as the flap is moving. So, it's probably the little flap not moving smoothly.
