2002 SL1
Default Re: 1996SL11.9L's 2002 SL1

Today the clutch interlock switch hopefully broke. I noticed how far I needed to push the clutch to allow the starter to run.

I bumpstarted it and took it home and took the 4Runner to work. I’ll bypass the switch when I wake up and see if it will start. I’m pretty sure it’s the problem.

I wonder how much life my clutch has left with 195,000 miles on it.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

When we rebuilt the '99 at 204K, I would estimate we had at least another 100K to go.

A 300,000 mile clutch gives me piece of mind.

The interlock switch is bypassed for now. Ill replace the switch when I get more time.

Its also time for a serpentine belt. Im not seeing a 778 Belt on napa or autozone. NApa belt length is 76.255 and autozone is 75.5 for AC and power steering.

I just changed my belt. Got it on Ebay for $6 free shipping.

Well my interlock bypass stopped making a good connection so I bought a new switch from NAPA and zip tie the switch in and it worked for awhile and I went to start it and no starter again.

So I bought and replaced the ignition switch along with the interlock switch. The switch looked aftermarket. I remember my 96 ignition switch said Lucas. This had no markings.
