Default Wiring Layout: Running Lights?

Here's a thought. Does anybody know of someplace to get ahold of wiring diagrams/layouts for an '02 SL2?

My car has the usual daytime running lights, which seem to be activated when the car is in gear (it's an auto) and the parking brake is off. I want to bypass this nonsense and just stick a switch on the convenient empty spot on my dash to turn the DRL's on and off.

Possible? Bad idea? Insanely complex?

Why do you want a switch? It's easier just to do the DRL delete.

Anyways, if you really want a switch, do the delete by bending a pin on the relay out of the way, and then running that pin through a switch and back into where it originally should have gone. I don't remember which pin...I'm thinking 87, but that could be wrong....do some searching, I know Saturnspot has a stickied thread detailing the process.

Thanks, I'll check for it.

I want a switch so I can turn on the DRL's when I want to. For instance, when I'm delivering and I want to light up a customer's driveway but not blind people.

No offense, but that's kind of a dumb idea. Just turn your parking lights on.

The other night I was one of the last 3 cars going into a Drive in movie theater and would have liked to kill the DRLs so as not to annoy people. I wanted just the parking lights on, but the DRLs are on unless Low/High or parking brake are on. The driveway was potholed enough that I didn't wanna 1 click the parking brake.
Might be something to try though, and it requires 0 mods.

The proper way to fix a S-Series automatic is to replace it with a 5spd O:)

I believe if you put on the parking lights, the DRL go off.

I know on my 2000 SL2, the DRL's are off if it's in park or neutral.

why not just add a set of cheap driving lights on a toggle switch.

Disabling DRL's. No tools, no jumper, no dash warnings.

They are off in park only, not neutral, unless they changed something from 2000 to 2002. They also don't turn off when the parking lights are turned on.
