2002 L-Series 2.2L Sedan
Default front exhoust pipe/down pipe, same thing?

yes or no?

"# Remove front exhaust pipe-to-manifold/header nuts. (1/2" socket needed)
# Remove front exhaust pipe-to-catalytic converter nuts. (1/2" socket needed)
# Remove exhaust pipe support bracket-to-exhaust pipe nuts. (1/2" socket needed)
# Remove front exhaust pipe from vehicle"

is it saying it want the down pipe to past the cat removed?

If by front exhaust pipe you mean the pipe between the catalytic convertor and exhaust manifold then yes, it's the same thing as downpipe.

13mm socket. None of the bolts/nuts in your saturn is standard except maybe the bleeder valves.

Your downpipe might also be WELDED to the catalytic convertor. Be perpare to cut it, if it is welded.

on my car, the downpipe is welded to the cat, although about 4" after the cat there is a 3 bolt flange that connects it to the rest of the exhaust pipes. I'd just remove the entire exhaust if you're doing the swap anyway.. if its welded that is.

Sure they are. Metric is more "standard" than SAE.
