Default 93 Saturn SL2

Hi all, Im trying to install a factory rear spoiler on my SL2, don't want to drill the holes off in the trunk.. theres cut out on the bottom of the trunk lid for room for the nut's to bolt the spoiler down, does anyone have a paper pattern I could get off their trunk to drill the holes in the proper spots??

There are six screws for the spoiler, correct?

Make a template from the spoiler, then drill the two outer-most holes in the trunk lid as those are well-defined by dimples/bosses in the lid underside. Once those two holes are in the lid, just locate the template on topside using those holes.

I hate the spoiler (used car, came with it). The extra weight causes the lid to no longer be balanced, and the lid often comes down when it is inconvenient. So, I grab whatever is handy to stop it from crashing on my hand or objects. That "whatever" usually turns out to be the license plate, which bends severely, so repairing the cracked plate, or mount on the lid for it, has been a routine chore. That crashing has also contributed to, at least, cracking of the latch area metal, I'll just keep "readjusting" the latch (bend it back) until it falls off or the car dies.

It is easy to make a paper pattern. I've made numerous patterns, as a tailor, yet found the attached video an interesting way to place the spoiler without having to make a paper pattern.

Personally, I would mark the exact vertical middle of the trunk and spoiler with tape prior to using the method in the video as a safeguard. (You might even want to mark the horizontal of the spoiler.) I would also place a tape(s) exactly horizontal across the trunk for a visual.

I tend to be a little anal when it comes to measurements as I use to work with extremely expensive cloth at times so make sure you measure thrice.

P.S. I have a spoiler on my 98SL2.
