Default Cleared out a code 19 and car runs great...Now I have a code 26 93 SL1 automatic.

I have a 26 code blinking after I fix the 19(6x) code. Also, the fan will not shut off on my hvac even though I have the selector turned to off. The cabin fan runs and blows even when sitting still. I was wondering if they were related.

I have replaced the temp sensor because the engine fans are coming on when in diagnostic mode along with the quad circuit fault. I understand that these older cars are pretty simple when it comes to the computer control. The temp sensor is very important to these cars. The wiring looks excellent and my connectors are clean and intact.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Hope that helps. If your fan won't turn off try looking at the relay. I had the same code and it turned out to be my IAT sensor having a bad connection

Also if you read the article you will see that when in diagnostics mode the fans must turn on, if they don't then code 26 will be thrown, check and replace your dummy lights first. Make sure the coolant level light trac light and abs light are all working too. The article will help you out alot. Take care of the small stuff first so you don't go spending money

And whenever you are doing anything to something that gets electricity in the car always disconnect the battery. just in case

"because the engine fans are coming on when in diagnostic mode"

By "diagnostic mode" do you mean jumpering the sockets in the ALDL connector to get blinky-codes? If so, that is normal, would be no reason to change the ECT sensor. (That was already covered above, just wanted to clarify what "diag mode" was)
