2007 VUE 2.2L
2007 ION-3 Sedan
Default Love those Saturns!

I take my VUE to a Chevy dealer for service that also use to own and run the local Saturn dealership across the street. Every time the sales people ask me if I'm interested in purchasing a new car, I ask them if they sell new Saturns? And every time I say that, they say that the Saturn folks really do love their cars!!!
After all how many cars can look as good as the Saturns after several years and especially up here with the cold winters, salt and crap that they throw on the roads? Yep...I'll keep mine as long as I can unless someone comes out with another affordable rust and dent resistant vehicle!

This was one of the main reasons that I bought mine. That and it is nondescript so I don't worry about anyone wanting to break into it or steal it so I don't have any anxieties wherever I park it. The most important reason though is it is one of the few SUV's that offered a manual transmission.

Default Re: Love those Saturns!

Kia keeps sending me offers to trade. They don't even offer a manual transmission on the base Sportage for 2014. A Corvette is rust resistant, but "affordable" may be an issue. J/K!

Two trim levels of the Subaru Outback offer a six speed manual.

2005 VUE 2.2L
Default Re: Love those Saturns!

MIne's doing ok after owning it for almost 2 years and putting
37000 (more)miles on it.

OIl and filter(s) changed at 7000mi/ burns a quart in 1400mi but I top it up by the pint.

NO rust or appreciable dings, though the Suburban I bumped into did manage to crack my front L/fender, but it looks like a fault line so I think I can get the 2 sides back to level by removing the fender liner and pounding the fender back to flush, then reinforcing the back with ( a yet to researched plastic compatible )epoxy and fiberglass.

Had 2 Corvettes myself. Fibreglass does crack but then so does the polymer at extremely low temperatures.

At the moment, I think carbon fibre sounds promising but production costs need to come down. But as was the case with the Saturns, why would the auto makers sell something that maintains it's appearance over a longer period of time.
