Default Outlook Alternate Tire Size

We have a 2007 XR AWD with the stock Forteras that are just about done.

In the stock size of 255/65R18, there is still only one option,
the Fortera HL at tirerack for $153 each.

Has anyone found or tried an alternate size, such as 245/60R18, which are
available at tirerack.com for a slightly more affordable $99 each.

I could not find anything on the web.

Let me know if you have had any success.

WoW !! They've knocked them down that much in price ?? I have a extra set of mint/never mounted/ still with manufacturers labels, I just have not posted in a classifieds section (somewheres) . . . . and I was going to sell the set for $800 cdn.

Do you still want to get rid of them. I am due for a new set and would like to use the same forteras. What do you run on it now?

Directed at me . . i presume !? They are a second set I acquired The 'stock' forteras are on the unit. Unless you're located in S.W. Canada probably cheaper to acquire a set from closer to your location.

I'm trying to find winter tires for my 07 XE and it is really hard. The ones I can find are super expensive, at least up here in Canada. WIth the dollar the way it is now, I'm thinking a trip down to Maine will be my next step. I was just quoted $1100 for a set of Blizzaks up here, I checked TireRack, $150 each!

Toyo (Canada) has a rebate offer if you purchase a set of 4 18" $80cdn and there is also a contest to win your purchase.

Even a little bit helps . . . . $80 = next gas fill-up

Last week I was on the BridgeStone/blizzak website looking for a email/consumer feedback link to ask them when they were going to rollout a 255/65R18 winter I first found out to my surprise that they rolled them out this past fall within the HM V-1 lineup ! Still have to call round for a quote on these . . monday for sure !

I noticed that Costco* is selling Bridgestone now but only started so no winters in stock I don't think they would have 255-65R18 in stock anyways ! And in the main store what ya see is what they'll have . .

Early december the dealership quoted me $900cdn on a set of Toyo G0-2 (shipped in from the west coast warehouse) . Blizzaks are a really nice sticky winter tire (previously experienced on my honda accord) but if $1100 out here as out east, that $200 diff. would be one rim !!

nite,

Dazed Re: Outlook Alternate Tire Size

Ordered the Toyos (G0-2plus) for $962 txs included from our former Saturn dealer (now Kia) ! Now to seriously start looking for (winter) rims before next winter ! Actually saw these on an 'acadia' last wk., but the owner wasn't around to ask how they performed.

BTW, the blizzaks from the one reseller who said they could still bring them in . . . basically $1200cdn .
