Default 1998 SL2 Wont start. Starter wont Spin

I have a 1998 SL2, standard tranny, no ABS. I just replaced the ECTS, but not the wire connector. The starter clicks (soliniod engagement I think) but will not spin. I can hear the fuel pump start up. I have tested the battery, and I have also cleaned all of the battery connections. Could this be anything other than the starter?

If it is the starter, where the heck is it? Is it under the battery box? Thanks for any help.

Did you test the battery with a volt meter with the headlights on while you try and start the car?

It's probably a bad starter.

Your starter is located under your engine near the interface between the engine and the transmission (pretty close to the center).

your starter has 3 prongs on it. RED is your power wire, Black is your ground, and the LITTLE one goes to your alternator. crawl under your car and touch the red one and the little one together with a screw driver, if it makes noise like the car is gonna start, it is your solenoid. if it doesnt, its the starter motor. either way, a new starter is in order.

MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS IN PARK WITH YOUR E-BRAKE ON AND YOUR TIRES STOPPED. just to be safe.

I don't think one of the wires is ground, because ground goes directly to the engine through everywhere the starter touches the engine.

This is a good idea to rule out any connection or wiring issues in your car. But make sure your car is in park or neutral, and the ebrakes are on.
