Sad June 16, Sad Day in Columbus

Saturn of Colubus had three facilities, The North, The West and Southeast.

Southeast was one of the first Retail Facilities that was built with the RED 2.

Yesterday, after the Owner group had tried to get a New Car Franchise, they had to close the doors.

The other two Saturn Stores are Mitsubishi now. The SouthEast store could NOT become Mitsubishi, because of Ricart Mitsubishi, which is in the same area.

They did get a SAAB Franchise, JUST before SAAB went belly up.

The facility could not survive on Used Cars, alone.

The owner group is attempting to relocate the employees, to one of its other 3 Stores (Nissan North, Mitsubishi North and Mitsubishi West).

On another note after Retiring the end of December from Mitsubishi West, because of some Health issues, I returned on a Part Time Basis the beginning of May.

My health has improved by going to the McConnell Heart Center and losing as of last Tuesday, almost 60 pounds. I did not know that I had toes on my feet They wiggle and I can NOW see them

I work Friday, Saturday and Monday starting at 9:00 a.m. and finishing at approximately 5:30 p.m..

If any of our Saturn Fans get bored and are in the Hilliard, Ohio area, stop by and say Hello.

Finally, one huge thing my family accomplished while Saturn was around, was the purchase of 47 Saturns (June, 1994 until 2008).

Glad to hear you're skinny and still kickin', Al - but sad news about the former Saturn/Southeast. Oddly enough, my family bought one vehicle at each of the three dealerships:

'95 SL1 (used) at Saturn/North in 1998
'01 SL2 (new) at Saturn/West in 2001
'99 SC1 (used) at Saturn/Southeast in 2007

Only 44 fewer than you bought.

Do you have the Mitsu electric car yet? Any takers yet?

Good thing the 60 pound loss was planned. Sometimes a person can lose that much and it's not a good thing.

Al!

Good to see you are doing well. Sorry to hear about the dealerships.

I was curious to know if the Central Ohio club still does anything on a regular basis at all? Or did the club get dissolved, etc. ?

Get better and good to hear from you on the board!

I'd say the biggest part of Saturn store went to imports. Our four stores did, The one that went Suzuki/Fiat sure can't last long. Glad to hear your doing well Mr ClapDaddy. Take care yourself.

It's a shame to see it go. My car is from Southeast; my grandparents bought it there in '01.
