Default Used SL2s vs Used SC2s

I was looking on cars.com and it seems that used SL2 are noticably cheaper than used SC2s. Any ideas why? Which cost more new?

Don't know, but I looked at both a 95 SL2 and the SC2 I have now. Mine was about 500 cheaper and the mileage difference was actually in the SC2's favor. So I think I got the better deal. I think you just have to look around and find the right deal.

The SC2 in the end was more expensive than the SL2. Another point is that there a lot more Sl2 on the road than SC2, that can explain the difference.

Also, the SC's looks more sportier than the SL's (although I'd rather have the sedan, that's just me though ). Kind of along the same reason that sportier looking 2-door coupes cost a little more in insurance than 4-door sedans.

Supply and demand.

More younger folks looking for a great first car don't want a sedan.

Sedans typically depreciate quicker than coupes do.

I like sedans, myself... the coupes are too small.

In the days BC (before children,) my coupe was fine. Now in AD ( after diapers) it is too small. But that is why I bought a '95 SW1.

Saturn used cars appear to be in short supply around Philly. The local newspaper has had only one or two listed in the want ads the past few weeks and when I visited my retailer for service last week their used car lot was nearly empty, too (one SL2 and one LS2). Totally unscientific study. :-)
