2008 SKY Red Line
Default Saturn Sky FATAL Problem MANUFACTURERS DEFECT

I was in an accident on Friday. Me against the wall of the parking garage. I lost. The idler arm on the passenger side failed and the tire bent inward. It broke into two pieces. This part is made from POT METAL. If you haven't already... you need to have this checked. The vehicle inspector told me that if I had been on the road doing more than 40 mph I would have been KILLED.

I want to know how many of you have experienced this problem yourselves. This is a MANUFACTURERS DEFECT.

I am still shaking.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

About four years worth of SKYs on the road . . . and never heard of this supposed "manufacturers defect." Got pics?

Who told you your idler arm broke?

Do you mean control arm or tie-rod end?

Interesting seeing as the steering in the SKY is rack and pinion with no idler arm. I believe the kuckle is aluminum and it will break if the car hits something hard enough.
There will be no pot metal on any suspension component on any car made.

As stated, there is no idler arm and there is not a single piece in the steering or suspension made of pot metal.

I also see NO recalls or TSB's for the steering knuckle on the Sky or Solstice.
