So I got into an accident, rear-ended a new driver at a merge zone, basically drove into the rear of a Land Rover or something at an idle, as I thought he was moving, he stopped "for a semi truck" that was already well past us... anyway. Hood got wrinkled up, punched a hole in the bumper between the headlights (spared them both!) and broke off my emblem! I am sure the front cross member is bent, but it seems to be non-structural and probably can get it back to close to straight.
Suggestions for repairs? Anyone else fixed something like this themselves? To the junk yard? Order new (is that even possible?) and get them painted? Pretty sure insurance will want to write off the car, which means I will probably take the cash instead. Will update with details, meanwhile, what is the feasibility of repairing it myself? Pictures to follow... http://imgur.com/a/nUnbK

Hood and front nose etc from JY, try for color match and as to the radiator support take the radiator and condenser out of the way and set a 2x4 in where the top of the radiator sat and chain the car to a tree with the chain around the support and 2x4. Give it a little slack and back up, don't pull too hard as it will straighten right out. Not bent bad. There will be some broken shields etc in there and they replace easily. Generally stay with the same model and generation and it all fits.
Easy DIY job. |

The way to pull the radiator support out is to get the car chained to a tree and the chain tight, set hand brake and then step in the center of the chain span to slowly pull it out where it needs to be. Use a long heavy chain that will not stretch and a piece of 2x4 backer that is almost as wide as the radiator initially.

Doing some searching around, annoyed that SC SW SL used different bumpers, but hoods seem to be the same, at least within generation 2. Hood locally quoted at $150, bumper seems hard to get.
