Default Need help finding a competent service provider in NJ

I live in East Brunswick, NJ and work in Jersey City, NJ . I have Malouf near where I live, and Difeo near where I work.

I've been using Difeo but they are proving to be nothing but incompetent buffoons, creating more trouble than they are fixing for me (had to go back 4 times to get them to fix what they broke after repairing a windshield wiper motor).

Greenbook Saturn, if they are still around, is too much out of the way.

This is no easy chore nowadays!
Have you used this locator to find other SASPs?

Yes, but how do I know they do not all suck ?

I've always felt that American cars are great -- but GM dealerships and service centers are awful. Difeo in Jersey City is proving just that. Malouf in East Brunswick, at least Malouf Ford when we had the Focus, also went out of their way to prove my point.

I took my car to Difeo to fix a windshield wiper switch (simple, right?) but they broke a piece of trim and a steering wheel position sensor while they were at it. They also smoked and left cigarette ashes in the car. Took me 6 trips to get that piece of trim fixed because each time they have to order a part. I am waiting to go there 7th time to get the steering wheel position sensor.

Malouf Ford didn't reattach a stabilizer link after doing some front end work on our Focus and denied they did it. Took me some yelling and complaining to Ford to get them to reattach it.

When my wife and I went to Malouf GMC-Pontiac-Buick the test-drive Vibe had (get this) a bag of dirty laundry in the front passenger seat and smelled like cigarettes.

A very good possibility! Everything going downhill today. My worst fears are having to get my cars inspected and having to take them into the shop. One of the reasons I am a devoted DIYer.

Well, I raised enough stink with GM and Difeo and they offered to give me a rental tomorrow. That is fine by me, for now.

I sent a letter to GM expressing my disappointment about parts availability for Saturns and the fact that Toyota owners get better discounts than Saturn owners.
