Default SaturnFans Webmail Provider to Charge Annual Fee for E-Mail Accounts Beginning Novemb

A new story entry has been added:

[drupal=3548]SaturnFans Webmail Provider to Charge Annual Fee for E-Mail Accounts Beginning November 15th[/drupal]

Attention SaturnFans.com Webmail users! Our longtime webmail provider, Everyone.net, will be ending access to free email accounts on Tuesday November 15th, 2016. Subscribers who upgrade to their Mail Plus Total Protection service will continue to have access to their "@mail.saturnfans.com" email addresses and will not be impacted. While on a personal level I am disappointed in the decision, Everyone.net says this change is part of ongoing efforts to reduce email abuse and improve security.

This seems to be a trend. Just 3 months ago,I was notified that my 17 year old E Mail account would be shut down because the provider was charging too much and the board host could no longer support it, even with advertisers and paying members.

It was a huge hassle since I had many credit card, banks, message boards, social networks, store accounts, government agencies, utility companies, and many more all tied to this E-Mail. I spent hours trying to update my E-Mail to a new address, and then lost a lot of my historic folders with good reference info.

At least you are going to give the option of a pay account which may be a big benefit for some people. Thanks for your consideration and for hosting a fine board.

I agree -- it is an unfortunate trend. That being said, I am glad they are giving us the option to upgrade our accounts instead of the company just shutting down the service.

paragraph after paragraph, and nowhere does it list an amount. Is it $1.00, $10.00 or $100.00??? I would like to know. I may want to do it, or get the hell out of Dodge. Please, fewer statements and more answers!!!

Long time away from the community, first post in a while.

At least we have been given an option. In most circumstances, it's an either/or proposition, especially as the internet moves toward profit-making, which has been the writing on the wall for some time.

My question would be is how much will the charge be, since those who choose to pay will be essentially subsidizing those who don't.

Information Re: SaturnFans Webmail Provider to Charge Annual Fee for E-Mail Accounts Beginning No

Hi everyone,

There are two tiers available. I did some digging tonight to find out where I originally found the pricing. I had to ask when I first went looking for it too. One option is $37 annually and the other is $50. More details are here:

Hope this helps,
Charlie

Welcome back! See my previous post for information on their pricing options. Folks who don't pay to upgrade will have their accounts terminated from what I've been told. I wish they kept their ad supported option. That was good enough for me and probably most of you who used the service, but alas...

One other way to get to the pricing options:

After logging in to your webmail account, click on "Options," then "Buy Email Upgrades."
