Default Glove Compartment Handle Broken?

I tried to open the glove box today, and heard a "pop". Looks like plastic end came off the rod on one side, and I can't figure out how to get it back on. Somehow the spring or something came undone, so pulling the handle (which is only connected to one side and I can't get that off) doesn't do anything.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? As of now, I can't even open the glove box to access anything in there.

Thanks!
