Question new Saturn's ads

I just saw, for the first time, 2 more ads for the Vue. One involved a Vue and some ants colony, the second one I'm not sure because I was at the gym, but I remember there is a little lizard in it or something. In both ads, the Vue is miniaturized, like the one with the snowcat.

I think the ones I saw yesterday and during lunch are new from this week, no?

Anyway, cool ads! At last!

Roll Eyes

Rather than open up a new thread, I just use this one for my observation on the VUE:

Yesterday I stopped by my retailer to have the car done, during the wait time I look at the VUE in the showroom. It's a AWD V6 in Dark Blue? and the sticker showing it has ABS and some minor stuff as options (No moonroof though!). Pricing at $24k MSRP, then I see a side tab next to it for dealer accessory options (Side steps, hood latch and bug deflector, roof rack and etc. blah blah ) and those are worth $3k?! :o: The total price of that VUE is nearly $27k+ something.

That's got me really thinking, for the price of $30k (MSRP + Tax + Dealer fees) I got an SUV which has:
1) NO Leather interior
2) NO 6-disc in dash CD + Cassette
3) NO Moonroof
4) NO Power and heated-butt seat(s)
5) NO DVD Entertainment or Nav System (if offered)

Even though I'm Saturnfans myself, I can't justify to pay this price to get a SUV with no luxo-amenities like this?

That $3k dealer accessory add-ons maybe absurb, but excluding that the AWD V6 with ABS (no Moonroof and 6 In-Dash CD+CC) be around $24k....again the drive-out final price will be nearly $27k (MSRP + TAX + Dealer Fees), still pretty costy though.

The VUE has six stock colors, none of which are dark blue, which was phased out after MY 2001. Perhaps it is an aftermarket paint job the retailer is charging extra for or it's the stock black silver.

I agree though, $30K is way too steep for a VUE without luxury amenities like heated leather seats, power moonroof or DVD/CD entertainment system.

I agree that is a lot. I think the price of the AWD V6 vue is great but when you start adding things like you said its terrible. Hopefully Saturn will make more things built on at the factory lowering the prices on those in the future. Because dealership prices are just too high. I think next year for 2003 you will see more options and packages for the VUE I think you just have to be patient because they are seeing what people want from the VUE. But thats what I think

Here's the breakdown for my VUE:

AWD V6 (base): 22,575
Transportation: 510
Head curtain air bags: 395
ABS: 575
6 CD changer: 500
subototal: 24,555

Dealer Options...
Cargo Mat: 50
Rubber Floor Mats: 80
Cargo Cover: 180
Rear lift gate air deflect: 110
Rear bumper protect pad: 50
Molded splash guards: 180
Roof Rack 260
Roof mounted bike rack: 60

Tax: 870
Total: 26,150

But I got a bonus!
They forgot to add in the price of the sun roof!!
I called in that option a few days after I made my initial order and I guess they forgot to put the cost of the $700+ option on the price sheet. As far as I'm concerned the paperwork is all signed so if/when they realize the mistake I'll be in the clear. Shhh... don't tell.

Wow, that's a nice bonus from the dealer!

Wondering why the Sunroof is not included in the factory MSRP price sheet? Or it's a dealer add-on (Doubt that!)

What about Tax and Dealer doc/prep fees for your VUE? I know everyone is deemed to pay for this no matter what car you buy, but the price reaching near $29k for an SUV with no leather is really scared me.....

GR898: I don't think it is dealer's aftermarket paint job, the VUE is in dark color factory paint for sure....I think it's Black Silver.
