Dizzy 2009 Astra 3 Door XR

I thought I read somewhere that the 3-Door 17" wheels were changing from five spoke to ten spoke. Is this true? Anyone have a pic of what the 17" alloys look like on the 2009 3-Door?

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what I want to do when my leased 06 VUE is up.

I like the 3-Door, but am have problems w/ the following bullet points:
  • No Sunroof Option
  • No Blue Tooth/Cell option
  • No iPod/MP3 input (I don't like the wireless modulators)
  • The Advanced Information Display is 80s looking. I thought the "advanced" display would at least be in color.

I guess I need to get in touch w/ my sales rep and get one out for a test drive. I haven't driven one yet.

Ahhh...Decisions, decisions!

Jeremy

Actually, your 09 Astra will be available with Bluetooth, check with the dealer, I believe it works through the on-board OnStar system. And my 08 Astra 3dr does have ten spoke 17' wheels. I loves them!

in the 09 Saturn ASTRA catalog, the 17" alloy wheels on the 3-Door XR are the same 17" alloy wheels on the 3-Door XR in the 2008 Saturn ASTRA catalog.

They are nice, but what about these wheels...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gmblogs/384855506/

Are those the 18" ones?
I really like the way they look.

Yep 18" wheels

Some things to keep in mind.

Tires are kinda expensive for that option.
Tires are summer only;might have to get a 2nd pair of wheels/tires for winter.

They look awesome, but living in Minneapolis, MN that's not going to work for me. I'll stick with the 17" ten spoke wheels instead.

You could pick up a spare, and run them in the summer. They sometimes show up here for sale.

LOL

I thought the same thing, and then when the car I wanted got sold before I could lay a deposit down (YES they are selling em) I wound up with a slightly better deal on one with the 18 inchers.

After our road trip back in October, I couldn't imagine driving this car with anything BUT the 18 inch tire option. Heck yes, they are expensive, but the smile on my face makes it worth the cost.

I am thankful that this Winter I won't have to press the Astra into service unless one of the other cars fails on me.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

I had a sunroof on my last three cars. I don't miss it as much as I had thought.

I don't think we'll see bluetooth on this generation Astra. There are aftermarket kits, but it's hard to install them and not lose OnStar while talking on the phone (say you are on the phone and get in a crash, the BT system will have muted the sound and you can't hear the operator). Of course you could put in a BT module that doesn't mute the sound or use the factory speakers.

I use a wired FM modulator (not the wireless kind) for my XM and it sounds good.

The advanced audio display does look dated, but it's much better than the base model display.
