They exist in black in tan for all 3 generations. Tan being more rare than black though. First gen also had blue armrests

Is it the same armrest if it has power windows, as I believe the console is different from.manual to power window due the switch?

It is the same. As well as the console. The switch sits where there's recess for small things on versions with manual windows.

I saw that one as well. Second gen armrests are somewhat rare on ebay, especially one with a non broken latch. It is missing the key and coin holder however. I've seen armrests sell for less than half that before that wasn't missing anything.

Defiantly overpriced imo

I wouldn't mind it having those problems but the price
As for the latch, jpsuli was suggesting to 3D-print one. As I happen to have a 3D-printer also I imagine I could restore it.

I've had more tan ones than black, not sure how it's more "rare" lol

Trashed the last one I had years ago, more trouble than it's worth. They're keyed-alike and the top cracks with the slightest pressure. I found it got in the way of shifting but others have stated the thought it made shifting easier (how can it be easier when the throw is 5 miles long and your arm is stuck on the armrest? lmao)

I can let you know if I find one at the junkyard that is worth saving. Typically I will grab them if they are possible to put back together. As Hiisi mentioned, 3D printing the latch is going to be much more feasible than buying one with it as it's near impossible to find them working.

I ended up with a black one thanks to another member here on the forum and I 3D printed a latch for it with 100% infill black ABS. Came out pretty good even though my printer was way out of tune then...

Sure it's a different color, but at least it's not like bright yellow or purple or anything... black matches everything, and it doesn't show dirtiness much lol

The advice you never asked for would be to sand the 3D-printed latch and acetone-coat it. Or painting with a can-spray would also give a nice surface finish. Great job anyways and the black one looks just fine there. I was actually wondering can the whole central console from SC be installed into SL/SW? Seems SC always had those armrests.

I'm 99% sure the armrests from 96-99 SC will fit in your SL2 - some one can confirm this

you can fit the whole console (from cupholder back) from the 2000-2002 SL/SC/SW as well with some work

My recommendation would be to get a 3rd gen console instead. They always have the armrest and aren't plagued with the issues of the 2nd gen. I believe you can make a 3rd gen window switch work with some wiring. Plus, 2+ cup holders!

I find it kind of interesting that that SC now has a little 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen making up the interior.

I wish Saturn made bigger changes generation to generation like Honda or Toyota would have. It defiantly has turned into a benefit 20+ years later though. Parts would probably impossible to get today if all 3 generations didn't share so much
