2006 VUE 3.5L
Default Unintended acceleration @ stop (wheels turned).

Noted on occasion (although rare), when I stop my vehicle, or slowing around a corner or pulling into a parking space, the engine will accelerate forcing me to use extra brake pressure. I noted this when I first purchased the vehicle & brought it up to the dealers attention (of course they could not replicate it). Thought it might be related to the excessive acceleration when first starting from a stop as takeoffs can be uncontroled & a very light foot needed (got used to this as my dealer said I should get to know the vehicle)

This occured this past weekend as I was making a right turn into a driveway, & waiting for a boy on a bicycle was crossing in front of me on the sidewalk, so now I think could this be overcompensation in engine speed for the drain on the power steering taking from the engine?

Ad choices is really pushing Nissan on my PC here.

I don't recall my Vue doing a large surge but believe I could see why it would happen.

The EPS gets power through a 80 amp fuse - this is a good clue the EPS motor can demand lots of current - especially at low speed when rolling resistance is increased and turns are sharper.

The 3.5 alternator is probably putting out 45 amps or so with engine near idle RPM - so when steering wheel is cranked the electrical demand will exceed available capacity - especially if HVAC blower, radio, wipers, ABS pump, etc are on and demanding power.

Two things that happens when demand exceeds supply is generator uses internal circuitry to boost output - which won't be much at low RPM - and the PCM will do its job to keep idle RPM at desired level.

The electrical system then slurps battery power to make up deficit (and batteries are not always able to provide the load).

So bottom line ... BCM which monitors electrical bus levels - can tell the PCM to boost RPM - and there are supposedly three levels of boost.

The RPM increase to boost electrical power would obviously cause a small speed surge which is probably what you notice.

...
I rarely visit forum but respond to private messages (PM). PM creates email to phone & please include email address with question. Avoid using Visitor Message feature ... I almost never check those.

possiblity:SHoe/boot overlap onto go pedal- happened to my size 13's in diff vehicles over the years.

Some boots just weren't made for driving certain cars.

I've seen the air conditioner boost the throttle a little on some cars.

Not sure how you would test that, does it happen in the Winter?

Happens in Winter or summer, the BCM boost may make sense here, seems to do it in turns, I had also noted while standing at a light or apporaching a stop.... which would go for the shoe overage, but I checked, & not it let my feet up & the care raced), only size 9's & even with the neuropathy I still know where my feet are.

Its a rarity but it happens, was holding the car waiting for a kid on a bike to go across the street whiule making a turn, could lead to a dangerous situation.
