1995 SL2
Default Question about suspension compatibility

Since my project car (Camry 1988)is nowhere near tunable, i thought i should modify my 1995 SL2 instead. I'm thinking about lowering springs. I can find some said to be for 96-2002 but not for 91-95.

As i see by parts number on rock auto, SL2 are sharing the same parts from 1991 to 2002. Is that right? If i buy lowering springs said to be for 96-2002, would it fit a 1995?

If it fits, anybody have a comment or advice on what brand to choose?

Maybe the strut assembly is different for the 91-95 years, but I've never noticed. If you still have the OEM strut, it's probably time to replace them anyway. As far as I know, all aftermarket struts I've seen worked for the entire S series line 91-02.

There's probably a strut change that makes the '91-'95's not identical to '96-'02 but they're still compatible.

The struts are probably shot anyway, I found the S-Series to be light enough to pass the bounce test even with blown struts.

My suspension works fine. I'm only thinking about lowering springs for the looks. The handling is already safe and sporty. As i recall, the whole suspension already been replaced, i seen it in the old receipts included with the car.

So as i understand, if i command lowering springs for 96-2002, it should fit?

1991-1995 interchange is for the FRONT strut cartridges.

1991-2002 is for the rear strut cartridges.

www.car-part.com shows used part interchange in the searchs.

If you are looking for lowering springs, you will want to stick with 1st Gen only sets, as the struts/coils for the front may be different on a set for 2nd/3rd Gen

Meh, can't find any. I guess i just won't have anything low for a while. At least the handling is already good on it.

I got a set from h&r for my 97 s for circle track racing
No problems or complaints. Other than I would like to cut a half coil off of thrm to further lower the car and stiffen the spring rate except lowering is messing up the roll center and bump steer.
Nobody makes corrective pieces for saturns
