Cup holder removal

I have a 2008 Saturn Astra, and would like to now if it is possible to remove the cup holder, that sticks out of the front/middle of the rear seat. You have to push the front of it, and it slides out, but something was spilled on it, and it sticks, and I would like to clean it.

If I remember correctly and Phatfire6 may want to confirm. The rear cupholder is simply clipped in from the top and bottom to a metal sleeve which acts as the support. Kind of like the rear interior lights on the roof. Should be able to shove something in the top and bottom to release the clips. Might also be easier to work on if you remove the whole rear seat which is done by pulling on the two taps located at the bottom of the bench, pull the taps out towards you and lift the seat up and out at the same time. The tabs are sometimes difficult to remove and require a good amount of pressure to be applied to them.

You have to remove the seats to release the cartridge that holds everything together. Once the seat is removed, you press through the foam from underneath while pulling the cartridge out.

Also, when removing the seats, put pressure down on the seat and then pull the tabs forward to get them to release. After they are pulled forward, lift up on the seat to release it from the clip.
