Default Power steering hose

Hey there,

Got a leak on the lower hose running to the rack on my L300. The upper hose doesn't look like it is much longer for the world so I'm just gonna change them both out. Does the brand of hose really make a difference for something like this? Sunsong, for example, is 1/3 the price of AC Delco on rockauto.com. Gates is about 2/3 the price. I can do them both at the same time if the quality is roughly similar and I can save some $.

Also, the job looks pretty straightforward but if anybody has any pitfalls to be aware of, I'd appreciate it.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I won't offer any opinion on quality for power steering hoses as I'm in the same boat but haven't figured out which hose is leaking on my L300. I may lean on the low cost replacement only because I think hydraulic pressure hoses and machine crimps are standardized for virtually fool proof manufacturing. Hydraulic hoses are designed for high pressures plus for flexibility and long term reliability. Similar to flexible brake hoses on all four corners.

I do however know that I replaced the original condenser coil (made in Mexico) after it suffered a corrosion leak in the bottom tube clamp in the middle of the span with a TYC (Taiwan) brand of equal quality. I can't tell the difference between factory and aftermarket but my car still has ac several years after repairs in the largest test track - NYC streets, roads and highways.
