Thank you for the kind comment!

This is a spare valve cover I had for the car.

First i had it jet cleaned with some high pressure water and detergent.
This process does not take time to do, its juste 2-3 days to get it back. This step is super important, otherwise your paint will not stick properly.

I had to wait for the good weather to come.
I shooted it once, twice. Waited 1-2 days, re-shooted it.
Waited another 2 days.

Use grinder and finness for the letters, then mouse sander, then tooth brush, to clean off the letters.

Removing the old head and carefully installing the new cover took 3-4 houres of my afternoon. Be prepared to have a new gasket, as if the old gasket is baked, it will just fall to pieces and you need that to re-assemble it. Also respect the torquing when you put back the bolts, super important.

It all depends how much you want your paint to cure I would say. I got good resulst i would say, but I did not rush, took my time and the fact I did not use the original head, otherwise it would not have been possible for me.

Cheerz!!!

I have been planning on doing this too just trying to find a new one so the car isn't apart too long. Also I need to pick a color but not sure if I want to do silver to match the car or maybe something else.

Do you think degreaser and pressure washing would be enough to clean a valve cover at home?

Also did you replace the head as well or just the valve cover?

Just the valve cover my friend.
You would be better off to bring it to get it sand blasted.
