Default 93 SL2 Catalytic converter replacement help

93 SL2 DOHC CA emissions. I am trying to replace catalytic converter.
Bought Magnaflow Direct-Fit Catalytic Converters-California Emissions.
Had no problem detaching exhaust pipe-flexpipe-Cat assembly but could not figure out how to get it out. The front exhaust pipe flange is trapped by small gap between the engine block and frame subassembly. Do I have to unscrew lower engine mount and lift the engine up? Are there any other easier way. Your help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

youn

so the cat is disconnected from the rest of the exhaust? just disconnect the front pipe from the exhaust manifold and wiggle it out of there. it will take some time but does work.

maybe disconnect the engine-to-trans brace for more room?

just undo the 2 nuts holding the down pipe on the exhaust manifold and should come right out the bottom of the car. also be sure to remove the exhaust hanger that is attached to the tranny/engine bracket. This will help you reinstall this.

Thank you Geartooth94 and Saturncrzy. Your reply were exactly what I needed. Assuring me that it should just come out.
I thought your sggestions were ridiculous. But when I went in underneath and wiggled it a little then it just fell out. Thank you!
