I want the big wheel arch flares and side skirts back.

Otherwise, glad to see it hasn't changed much.

It's hard to tell from that angle, but it looks like it still has the tall boxy nose and oversized headlights.

I think those wheel arches really made the car. Who do we complain to to get them to put the arches back on. Otherwise it just looks like a normal car.

I've always wondered... Where do they make these prototypes? They can't just run on down an assembly line. Do they fabricate all the parts and assemble it by hand?

The wheel arches are there, they just don't show up in a spy shot of a white car from a distance with a telephoto zoom lens....

Look closer, they are still there, they just don't show up very well. Also, the side skirts and rear bumper aren't on the car, it's just a test mule, not an actual production car. Besides, GM wants people to guess what it is, wouldn't make much sense to just paint "AURA" down the side.

I hope they'll use Coldwater Cyn and Laurel Canyon to test these mules like they did the Chrysler 300, New Beetle, Mustang and Five Hundred

If they do, we're all counting on you to capture some shots and post them here.

How can you tell? Can you see through the camo? The front and rear are covered, the rear bumper isn't there yet, and the pictures are slightly fuzzy. As for Malibu, the window shapes are different, it has pronounced wheel flares, the roof arc is different and the rear doors are longer, so yeah, I guess it looks just like it. NOT! I really wish people would make final judgements after we see the production version.

I think it looks decent...but nothing special. I don't like the wheel well flares...they look too Ford Focusy...and the cabin shape and trunk resemble an earler Dodge Intrepid.

Yeah, the wheel arch flares are gonna look great after a few trips to the local supermarket! It's like those things are just asking for parking lot dings. I still say keep the plastic side panels!

Oh well, it's a shame, but with GM going bankrupt, I guess they have to save money any way they can. I'd love to see some company start offering dent resistant panels, though. Until they do, I'm much less likely to buy any new car. I was annoyed enough by the ding in my parents' new Accord, and that's not even my car! I'd really be obsessing over that type of damage if it was my own new car. That incident actually reinforced my desire to buy used. I was thinking about a new Mazda 3, but I think I'd rather spend 6 or 7 grand on a used SL2.
