Default Whats driving the power steering pump?

In a ecotec powered L series, is the power steering pump being driven straight off the cam? Thats how it appears to me.

Yup - driven directly off the intake cam. less parasitic losses that way.

The power steering pump shaft will break before there is any damage to the enigne. Has a machined weak spot for this.
