I'm not planning on going this year but I will go back again if they have a Homecoming in 2004. It'll be a tough choice though whether to take my ION or wifey's VUE. The VUE holds more beer but if they let us drive on the Bristol racetrack again, I'm not sure how much I'd like driving the VUE up near the wall on the track's high banking.

John8's not kidding. When we got to do laps a Bristol, we were paced at 55 mph, but that seemed plenty fast with the banking, especially when it was going through your mind that the real racecars hit 110 or so!

Doing laps at Bristol was definitely a high point of the caravan to Spring Hill.

If they do have a homecoming and get to do laps at Bristol I will surely make it somehow.

That would be the only way I ever got to go to Bristol since it's so hard to get tickets for the races. Otherwise I will just have to stick to it in my NASCAR sim.

Just to clarify, the run at Bristol was not part of the main Homecoming itself but an event for those of us that chose to travel to Homecoming in the Saturn sponsored Northeast Caravan. Besides Bristol thay also had a couple of picnics and BBQ's and gave out all sorts of T-shirts and other goodies. The Caravans were definitely worth the ride especially at the end when a massive convoy of Saturns drove the last several miles into the plant.

John8's right on all counts.

I am not certain when the laps at Bristol were added to the NE Caravan event list. I think it might have been added at the last minute by our wonder Caravan Leader (known at the time by the name Lisa Leone, I think) when we were in the Roanoke area.

In any case, driving the caravan to Spring Hill was definitely a good part of the Homecoming experience.
