Default Eibach Springs

Hi,

I have found a site that claims to still have the Eibach Springs for the Vue. My question is this, I want to have better cornering stability, will these springs improve this? Also I do not want to have suspension problems because of the drop, is the drop minimal enough to not cause problems??

Thanks,
Ian

What's a standard price for putting these in? I don't have a regular mechanic that i go to so i don't want to get ripped off.
thanks for all the great info on this site!

Mine, on my SC1, cost a case of Molson Export and I helped put them in. So, I guess I can't help you much there.

I got some good news. Saturn is extending my warranty to 5 years 75K, free of charge! I was having some problems with a part of the car, repaired 3 times, and they were going to give me coverage on just that part but my state won't allow that so they gave me the whole extended warranty.

however, my plans for putting in the eibach springs are now in question. Will lowering the car using these springs effect my warranty? Is the drop small enough to improve the handling of the car but not negatively effect anything else?

Please help!

It will only effect the warranty of the springs themselves and possibly some suspension components effected by the install if they feel they were in correctly installed. You could talk to your service advisor about getting them to install it and how it would effect your warranty. They might install it and warranty everything except the parts. Or they might tell you some doom and gloom bullcrap about altering your ride height. The Eibach drop should be mild enough to not adversely effect any part of your suspension, provided you get an alignment done after installation.

eibachs are the mildest aftermarket spring for the VUE, like 1.4" f/1.3" r. as for warranty, if you had them installed then wanted to claim warranty on the struts, well, I can see where they would turn it down.
for labor costs, you should call around and be aware of how much labor is involved. in the front, if you aren't changing anything else, the strut assembly needs to come apart. any worn parts found need to be replaced. then it needs to be aligned.
how many miles on your VUE? if over 50K or so, you may want to consider changing the struts and/or the strut bearing. the strut bearing especially takes a lot of abuse and is a common wear item.
I'm changing everything when I do mine, because I'm at 54K, and I don't feel like having to tear into it again soon.

Eibachs, as previously stated, are a VERY mild drop. I have the sprint springs and people still tell me I should lower my car... not knowing its already dropped 2".

You probably won't notice too much of a drop, but the handling will definitely be a bit better with the Eibachs.

as burnout stated, in my past experinces,if your looking for the "look" of a lowered ride these are not for you, they deffintley out perform stock springs in every application ive rode in.so if you want better handling these are the way to go.if you want the lowered "look" go with sprint or springtech
