Default metal "cone"

Changed out all my motor mounts and struts this weekend, and the car feels much more solid, but of course now I've got another issue...

First, the car started throwing code P0713, transmission sensor voltage too high. I'm going to clear it, and see if it comes back...Any ideas on that one? Fluid level and color was fine...

Secondly, when i was jacking the car up, a metal "cone" looking thing fell off the bottom of the car. It appears to be some kind of cover which is pressed in around a cradle bolt. A picture can hopefully be seen below...if the link works. Any idea how to get this back into place, or if it's really necessary?

Maybe the cone and code are related, LOL. I'd look and see where it might fit...there is only one place it will fit.

oh, i know where the cone came from...its from the bolt that is furthest toward the back of the car on the driver side k-member. It appears to just be pressed in, and there is one, which is still in place, on the other side of the car....

I just dunno wtf it is/does/did...and if it was important haha.

Oddly enough, I've been working on these cars for fifteen years now. Owned nearly twenty of them, torn down and rebuilt one from the frame up and totally disassembled four or five.

I've never seen that part before.

I know what that is. It's a round tuit. They're hard to get sometimes and can be pricy. You can get them here though. The piture looks different, but I'm sure that's what it is.

Uzzy you're going to feel bad if he takes you seriously. Remember when I gave that guy a link to muffler bearings??

Make sure he gets enough. Pretty sure they need to be installed in pairs.

I dont think thats it. The radiator grommet is rubber and has a lip around the edge. The one looks to be metal.

Looking at the pic LS posted I'm 99% sure if from the cradle bracket. Normally it's pressed into the cradle and bolted to the frame. Bolt #3 would be that bolt.

and the above pic is the passenger side, with the "cone" still in place.

The thing is that there is nothing for the "cone" to bolt to, unless the center portion of it completely rusted through; it appears as if it was simply "pressed in", but im going to take a look at the passenger one now...

Anyon have any ideas on the P0713 code, i cleared it and it came back...perhaps it just needs a new sensor?

Ok. I knew I wasnt crazy for not seeing that before. I went out an check my SL2 and a couple other Saturns in the parking lot here at work. None of them have that on the cradle.

Makes me think that it may be something left over at the time of assembly. I wouldnt worry about it.

A P0713 is "Trans Temp Sensor Voltage Too High, Transmission fluid temperature sensor input above acceptable voltage"

Right...so the question, which i guess only i can answer...is does it need a new sensor, or is one of the wires fubar, and grounding out...

Thanks for all your input!! These "cones" will be up for sale as a one off, collectors item. Bidding starts at $5,000.

Ya got me on the cradle assembly part 1007291421.jpg is definitely the same as what you found but how/where it came out of is a mystery. Looking at the photos of the 2 body sections one is concaved and the other is flat to the frame. There is prolly a front/back & left and right. Which side did you photo?
