Default Detroit Free Press article ... us?

Here's an excerpt from the Detroit Free Press (November 20, 2000) regarning the naming of the Saturn SUV:

"And it doesn’t have a name yet, although company insiders say it will before the end of the year and that it’ll have an actual name instead of an alphabet-soup designation like the S-Series and L-Series cars. Suggestions on a Saturn owner’s message board on the Web range from SUV (Saturn Utility Vehicle) and Tsunami to Titan and Hyperion, two of the moons of the planet Saturn."

You don't think that Saturn owner's message board is us, do ya? Nice to see the folks are out there listening...

I'm disappointed that the article didn't mention my suggestion of Bob as a name for the SUV!

Hey, what about my PUG suggestion!! And I'm from the Detroit area too!! HAHAHAAHA...

That's pretty cool. Yeah, I'd guess it would be this owners board they are talking about!

I think the article probably did refer to this message board. That said, I was disappointed in the negative spin that the article put on Saturn sales. Sure the last year was disappointing against the company's projections but the author could also have pointed to better sales figures during the last several months. Based on what I read and what I see on the road, I believe that the L Series is gaining acceptance.
