Default Changed Transmission Fluid with Benefit of Fumoto Valve

This is just an informational piece. As I changed my automatic transmission fluid this weekend, and felt that since it went sooo smoothly, I'd remind all, that having the Fumoto drain plug & extension made such a difference. Upon returning home yesterday (Saturday) evening, I simply layed on my back and slide my container under the transmision and opened the valve. This morning, I closed the valve and removed the collector.

I should note: this is the second time, I change it annually, that the system took 5.5 quarts. I'm using Mobil 1.

What made it so comfortable, was that I did not have to lift the car up to get at the valve, which would have been the case, should I have been having to remove the OEM drain plug, having to us a wrench.

What did suprise me was that it took 5.5 quarts of fluid; Which confirmed my figure, the last time I changed it -- Last December '05.

As I'm at home, I'm unable to tell you what the stock number is for the valve, with it's extension.

Luke what did the drain oil look like?
based on our tests with Castrol TranSynd (similar PAO base oil to the Mobil 1 ATF) 150,000 miles in the most gruelling application (transit buses and garbage packers) is no problem.

What a great idea.. guess one on the oil side first would make its cost more useful...

By the way, affect a "Search" in our library, for I was recently told that the discount code, I had asked for last year, was still active.

Fumoto Valve Discount Code = YM4
Found it>Here<.

so I bet you were asking, "where were you the first 400,000 miles of my life"?

If anyone deserves one it's you man.

Incidentally if you ever need another rebuild, I would stick the stock plug in before turning the car over. Never know what sticky fingers could misplace the thing.

Keep in mind, I've been using the "oil" drain valve for decades, but they did not make the extension for the transmission valve,
until over > for the saturn < a year ago.

Based on the miles you have accumulated since, the shop that rebuilt your trans did a good job, which is not always easy to find.

You might consider donating your drain ATF to the home for underprivileged Saturns or something......

What were the part numbers for the Fumoto tranny drain valve and adapter? Their website does not list any applications other than for the engine drain pan.

You didnít mention if you also replaced the ATF filter. I have used Mobil 1 synthetic ATF the last 2 drain and fills.
