[QUOTE=fdryer;1640660]VTVUE, you'll need to clarify your posts. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but the interior blower fan normally has nothing to do with the a/c system compressor operation
I dont know one quarter of what you do about A/C fdryer, but I do know
when the interior fan resistor card goes bad the A/C button will not activate, except for on high speed which bypasses the resistor card.
My suggestion to all vue owners is remove the resistor card from the interior fan compartment under the passengers side dashboard and coat it with epoxy before the black paint on the resistor card corrodes and releases itself from the aluminum heat sink and ruins your paper thin circuit board also. The circuit board consists of three strips of thin metal and are different thicknesses to act as resistors on the board for the different fan speeds 0.5 ,0.8, and 1.0 ohms I believe it is ( not much on electrical either), very cheap build, instead of using actual resistors
just my thoughts

JBR ... thanks for your post. You done good.

Your effort confirms - once again - there are circuits on fan-speed resistor card which affect AC compressor run.

I'd sure like to find a schematic for that card.

Hey Far2, if you look in your FSM under HVAC- HVAC system manual- schematic and routing- blower controls, you will find the blower controls schematics and resistor card schematics on that diagram. I carefully scraped the paint off my old one to have a peek at it and like I said previously its only different size strips off wire used for resistance. I will try to repair it with more wire as long as I can find the proper sized wire for the proper resistance.
Hope this helps

Is the resistor card a dealer only part or is it available aftermarket?

Not sure if anyone will find this important anymore but I have a 2003 Saturn Vue with the same issue of A/C only working on low setting..Once you change fan speed the a/c light goes out and the warm air begins to blow.....I replaced the blower motor resistor which cost me 21.83 on Amazon and IT FIXED THE PROBLEM.....Trust me..It WORKS...

I find it very important because it happened with our 2003 also. I will order it up and see if it makes a difference. The same problem, hopefully, the same remedy.

Thanks all!

BTW, would you have a link or brand name from that Amazon resistor?
