Default intake manifold and my irritation level

Im trying to change the gasket and after a hour i got the hidden bolt out from under the 1st fuel injector. Now I can't get the m$#$%^F*&&^^ manifold of the threaded bolts. Its getting stuck on what i think is the alternator. Do i need to remove that to?

Did you remove the power steering pump? Sounds like you didn't because with it out of the way the nut on the very front is easy to get to.
The pump is removed by unbolting it from the bracket through the holes in the pulley. Three bolts.

Thats what I was afraid of, sounds easy though. Thanks for the reply.
Boy you should have seen me show that inanimate object who was boss, I bet that it is still crying over all the bad words I called it.
What about the belt, am I going to have to worry about messing with that?

Um, you're removing a belt-driven component. Gee, do ya think?

It took longer for you to type the question (and for me to type the "answer") than it does to remove the belt.

HA !!

If you're taking that PS pump off, take pictures, use color coded paints, and meditate before reinstalling.

Guess what I had the most trouble with?

I'm interested in your Intake removal, though.
I had the Head off and, for some reason NEVER looked in.
When I cleaned out the Throttle Body, however, I noticed a ton of crap in there.
If you can get it off and back on in good order, I might take a shot at bathing it.

Keep posting our your adventure, please

Nice response, by the way.
If you don't have a sense of humor, keep the hood of your Saturn closed.

Best. Saturnfans. Post. EVER!!!

This ^^^^^, homies, is an aphorism, a truth that is truer than the human mind is generally capable of understanding, and in more ways than we can possibly imagine. Charlie should make it a closed sticky thread, large bold print, at the top of every S-Series related forum. Shoot, it should be a watermark.

Okay, my end-of-the-month remark was over the top. But it shouldn't be too big a surprise that if you're removing anything belt-driven, you start with removing the belt. And, esp. compared to the bad old days of V-belts, prying on one component or another to hold tension while tightening a slider bolt, etc., it's a laughably quick and simple procedure.

I agree with you there...but you know, they just don't hand out common sense like they used to. Must be runnin out.

At least the guy we're trying to help calls you a prick for your efforts. That always gets you far here. I guess if he isn't smarter than the intake he's trying to remove, you cann't expect him to master the intricacies of belt removal also.

I asked because the Chiltons I bought didn't say anything about the power steering pump or the belt. Wasted my money on that book, I should have donated the $20 to this website. I did get the manifold off by just loosening the threads and tapping the pump with a rubber hammer. Replacing the gasket did fix my high idle issue and I appreciate the help how ever prickish it my have been
