Default Instead of CVT...

A local guy invented a new kind of transmission... do you think the big 3 would ever use it??? Maybe test it in Saturn like GM has done in the past???

This link will no longer work after Saturday the 14th, so I will copy and paste soon...

Well, if the big 2 1/2 here in the U.S. don't pick it up, he should go to the Japanese or Koreans.

I don't think any of the big U.S. auto companies will use it. Seems like maybe Toyota would use it for a while, then maybe in ten years GM will pick it up if it works.

Just look at the hybrid vehicles the Japanese have introduced. So far I haven't seen any indication that any of the domestics want to invest in them, even though Toyota has pledged to offer hybrid tech in all of its models by 2010.

I'm not flaming by the way, my father works at GM. Just speaking about my honest perceptions of the domestic auto industry.
