Unfortunately, Polymer is being eliminated entirely. Once the last ION's and VUE's rollout after the '07 model year, Polymer will be no more.

The lame excuses I am hearing are:
  1. It's too expensive
  2. Panel gaps are too wide

Those are the two main reasons. To devlop a vehicle on a dedicated platform is not cost effective, and right GM just can't afford it. The VUE and ION are on shared platforms, but they were designed first to hold plymer panels, and the structure is very different than if it weren't. Besides that, the #1 ingredient in plastic is oil, and it's always setting a new record high. The panel gaps are not acceptable for the type of market will be going after soon. It will be a sort of Oldsmobile replacement, and Euro fighter. VW would be it's arch nemisis essentially.

Unfortunetaly, Saturn is getting rid of polymer all together, which sucks.

I love polymer, and I will miss it on future Saturn cars.

Obviously I understand them not putting it on big vehicles.

If you're a car begging for your life, wouldn't you want someone to add fluids?

GM tried it once before. The early Lumina APV/Silohuette/Transport "dustbuster" minivans were polymer.
